Bill Cosby: Trayvon Martin Case About Guns, Not Race

It's both. Cosby deserves credit for speaking up:

Actor and comedian Bill Cosby says the debate over the killing of Trayvon Martin by a neighborhood watch volunteer should be focused on guns, not race.

In an interview on CNN's "State of the Union" aired Sunday, Cosby said calling George Zimmerman a racist doesn't solve anything. Cosby says the bigger question is what Zimmerman was doing with a gun, and who taught him how to behave with it.

Baptist leader criticizes Trayvon Martin support

This is harkens back to the days of Jim Crow. They are crawling out back from under the rocks the racists had crawled. It's frightening. That is why they must be confronted. Unfortunately the occupant in the White House is too much of a politician to do what's right on racial issues:

The head of the Southern Baptist Convention's public policy arm has condemned the response of many black leaders to the Trayvon Martin case as "shameful."

Some black pastors within the nation's largest Protestant denomination say Richard Land's comments hurt the effort to broaden the faith's appeal beyond its traditional white, Southern base.
