Tearful Pelosi: Violence Could Result from Health Care Reform Debate

I'm glad there is more talk about the heated language coming out of the health care reform debate. Although, it really isn't about health care. The anti-Obama language is about demonizing a black President.

An emotional Nancy Pelosi fought back tears and warned Thursday that the nation's angry political climate could inspire deadly violence.

Pelosi said it reminded her of her San Francisco hometown in 1978, when a disgruntled member of the city Board of Supervisors assassinated Mayor George Moscone and openly gay Supervisor Harvey Milk.

"I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw this ... I saw this myself, in the late '70s in San Francisco," Pelosi said, her voice catching as she fought to keep composure.

"This kind of rhetoric was very frightening, and it created a climate in which violence took place."

You sure it has nothing to do with 3 Trillion of debt within just one year and state overtaking financial, auto industries and now trying to overtake health care. It of course has nothing to do with people who Obama associate with - from Rev Wright to Van Jones. Those Grandmas who voted for Obama and now pissed because he wants to cut their medicare by 500 Bs are sure racist!

As to tearful idiot Pelosi, she needs to listen to what DNC says:

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0909/27311.html

DNC spokesman Hari Sevugan said: “The message to opponents of change who would lie or misrepresent the truth should be clear. We are going to respond forcefully and consistently with the facts, and you will no longer be able to peddle your lies with impunity. Through tools like 'Call 'Em Out,' you will be met with a rain of hellfire from supporters armed with the facts and you will be held to account.”

Hellfire, eh? Losers

There's not much that scares me on the news - even though our MSM tries so hard to ruin my day, every day, exaggerating the perils of terrorism, swine flu, economic catastrophe, blah blah.

But this teabagging thing makes me worry - especially in light of Pelosi's comments and how they relate to the recent lynching of a census taker in Kentucky.

I live in Texas and, trust me, the place is swarming with racists, secessionist dumbasses and religious 'conservatives' who all seem just one polite 'howdy' away from pulling a McVeigh. Talk to any of them face to face and you'll get the picture that the news won't talk about: they hate the feds, they think black folks should know their place and they are all mad as hell that a black guy is running our 'white Christian' country. (So God knows how bad it is in Kentucky, Alabama and all the other banjo-twanging armpit states that make Texas look like Sweden.)

These people need putting in check because they are dangerous and represent a way bigger threat to America than foreign nutjobs like al Qaeda. They might yammer about 'small government', but the logical end for all this Glen Beck-fueled BS would be a fascist coup. They don't want 'small government' they want a frigging coup that will put them in power so they can set about reversing civil rights, closing the borders and turning the country into one big corporate circle jerk with evangelical Christian mania as a distraction.

people like the previous commenter know they ain't smart and opposing opinions just make them mad, so their dream is a homogeneous, authoritarian state that validates their own 'beliefs' and makes all the smartypants folks who disagree with them go away. literally.

Just as Anarchism paved the way for authoritarian Communism, so Libertarianism is being used today to grease the wheels for American Fascism. Sure, Ron Paul says some good stuff and I can dig the whole 'hate the government thing' (I used to read Bakunin, Proudhon and Kropotkin when I was younger), but there's nothing 'libertarian' about these people. They're straight fascists.
