Politics is profitable. Just ask the Clintons and Rudolph Giuliani. You think you are electing public servants. The joke is on us. Our government is piggy bank for the powerful and well connected. And Congresspeople are part of that corrupt two party system. When they are not going to jail for illegal bribes and getting caught with hookers, they are busy taking legal bribes from big business. Especially after they leave office - if they leave. Oh, getting elected to Congress is basically a lifetime appointment.
